$365.00 + GST

Have your teams trained by BA Specialists.
Training from those who’s life has depended on it.

COURSE AIM

To train the operators of Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus (CABA) in the physical, mental and practical aspects of carrying and breathing from the CABA systems. The operator will lean pre-start checks, commissioning, wearing and monitoring of CABA sets during operation, and recommissioning of the sets for future use.

FULL COURSE DETAILS

Benefits:  Regardless of whether your staff use CABA for regular maintenance work (water treatment industry), or are trained in the use of CABA for Emergency Response Teams / Rescue Operations. This course will give the users confidence to use the Breathing Apparatus to it’s full potential  -even in harsh situations.

Duration:  One day. The trainees will need a change of clothes, as they will perspire during the practical components.

The BA course includes the following NZQA unit standard:

  • 25044 – Wear and Operate Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus in the Workplace

This course does require a moderate level of physical fitness to be able to demonstrate the required skills to achieve a competent outcome.

Note:  As we are training users to wear the Breathing Apparatus in a simulated IDLH (Immediate Danger to Life or Health) situation, the trainees must be clean-shaven. Information can be found on this on OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) pages from all around the world. This does date back to Negative-Pressure Demand type CABA sets, but nonetheless, the leak-rate of any type of BA mask seal will increase if the wearer has facial hair in the sealing area.     For any issues or questions around this, please call us first to discuss.
