FULL COURSE DETAILS
Benefits: Regardless of whether your staff use CABA for regular maintenance work (water treatment industry), or are trained in the use of CABA for Emergency Response Teams / Rescue Operations. This course will give the users confidence to use the Breathing Apparatus to it’s full potential -even in harsh situations.
Duration: One day. The trainees will need a change of clothes, as they will perspire during the practical components.
The BA course includes the following NZQA unit standard:
- 25044 – Wear and Operate Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus in the Workplace
This course does require a moderate level of physical fitness to be able to demonstrate the required skills to achieve a competent outcome.
Note: As we are training users to wear the Breathing Apparatus in a simulated IDLH (Immediate Danger to Life or Health) situation, the trainees must be clean-shaven. Information can be found on this on OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) pages from all around the world. This does date back to Negative-Pressure Demand type CABA sets, but nonetheless, the leak-rate of any type of BA mask seal will increase if the wearer has facial hair in the sealing area.
